Māori and Pakeha Early Contact
Inculturation
Catholic Education in NZ
2. Facilitating RE lessons
- Learning about Catholism and the history of Catholic Education was interesting. Newfound admiration of how Catholics schools began and the philosophies' that led them to being was an eye opener. The added special character of being Catholic sets our schools apart from other. The connection of the church, school and the community were what caught my attention. TO understand the foundations of Catholic Education has taken away the bias I had about Catholic Schools vs State Schools.
- Meeting other teacher at Catholic schools was great as I was able to learn from them in how to deliver me RE lessons in a more engaging way. fond this to be helpful as I was using the booklet and it is quite dated so activities (worksheets) were quite boring for my students. Take the new learning and implement in class.
